Services · Office fitouts and glass partitions
The options
The ceiling and floor build-up decide whether an acoustic partition performs, not the glass alone. We will tell you that at pricing rather than at commissioning.
| Framed partitions | Frameless partitions | Acoustic partitions | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | Glass in an aluminium head, sill and mullion system, single glazed | Glass panels butt-jointed with silicone or a dry joint, held in a slim head and floor channel | Double glazed or laminated glass in a sealed frame, with acoustic doors and seals |
| Best for | Budget-led fitouts, larger runs, where the framing colour is part of the design | Boardrooms, front of house, offices where the glass should read as clean glass | Meeting rooms, HR and legal offices, medical consult rooms, anywhere privacy has a number on it |
| Acoustic range | Rw 30 to 35 with standard glass | Rw 33 to 38 with thicker or laminated glass, joints are the limit | Rw 40 to 48 depending on makeup, seals and the ceiling detail |
| Doors and hardware | Framed glass doors or timber doors in the same suite | Frameless pivot or sliding glass doors, patch fittings | Acoustic-rated doors with drop seals and full perimeter seals |
| Programme | Quickest to fabricate and install | Glass lead time is longer, sizes must be locked | Longest lead time, and the ceiling and floor details need to be right first |

Why Surefit for fitouts
A fitout letting schedule is long enough without three glazing lines on it. Partitions, doors, mirrors and film come from one contractor with one set of shop drawings.
Partitions, doors, mirrors, splashbacks and film from one contractor. Fewer inductions, fewer site meetings, one set of shop drawings.
We work from the acoustic report and tell you what the ceiling and floor need to do before anyone orders glass.
Framing is fabricated in our own factory, so there is no waiting on a supplier’s slot between site measure and install.
Protected floors, contained cutting, out-of-hours where the tenant needs it. Fitouts happen around people at work.

Questions builders ask us
Single glazed framed or frameless partitions sit around Rw 30 to 38 depending on glass thickness and joints. Double glazed or laminated acoustic systems reach Rw 40 to 48. The rating on the partition only holds if the ceiling, floor and door seals match it, so we price those details with the glass.
Yes, where the fitout drawings and the fire engineer call for it. Fire-rated glass and frames are supplied as certified systems and installed to the tested detail. Lead times are longer than standard partitions, so tell us early.
Yes. Safety manifestation to AS 1428 is included on every glass partition and door. Frosted privacy bands, graphics and full-panel films are priced as options and applied in the factory or on site.
Framed is quicker, cheaper and more forgiving of out-of-square buildings. Frameless looks cleaner and suits front of house and boardrooms. Acoustic requirements usually push toward framed or double glazed. If the design says frameless and the acoustic report says Rw 45, we will flag the conflict at pricing.
Yes. We protect floors and furniture, contain cutting and dust, and work out of hours where the tenant needs it. Most fitout glazing goes in while the building is trading.
Framing is made in our own factory, so the gap between measure and install is set by glass lead time rather than a supplier queue. Tell us your ceiling and floor dates and we will give you a real number.
